Case-Based Introduction to Radiology (CBIR)

Imaging is a crucial component of medical decision-making, and its over-utilization can result in patient harm. Our comprehensive Case-Based Introduction to Radiology offers more than 100 online learning modules tailored to meet the needs of medical students, physician assistant students, first-year radiology residents, and non-radiologist clinicians. These modules aim to develop:

  • An understanding of the role of imaging in medical decision-making workflows
  • Fundamental imaging interpretation skills
  • Proficiency in imaging findings commonly tested on licensing exams (USMLE, COMLEX)

Our case-based learning modules offer flexibility, allowing users to complete them in any order and personalize their learning journey. Each organ system is covered through seven subspecialties, featuring cases across multiple imaging modalities. The modules are designed in accordance with the AUR AMSER curriculum.

Each module presents real cases to learners, including patient presentations, ACR appropriateness criteria, comprehensive imaging study sets, and detailed reports. Learners are guided through the process of selecting and interpreting case-specific imaging, developing a diagnosis, assessment, and plan for each case using full DICOM imaging sets and carefully chosen key images. Expert instructor feedback is provided at every stage of the learning process to ensure a thorough understanding and mastery of the material.
